This is an open sketch studio workshop moderated by Ellie Mesa. On the 1st and 2nd Tuesday of the month, $15 model fee

Easels, tables and chairs available, please bring drawing and painting materials. The Nest Arts Factory invites artists and students to join their working artists community to draw and paint from life in the rustic community room. This workshop is sponsored by City Lights/Bridgeport Art Trail.

Seasoned artist Eliana Mesa curates the perfect Friday night event: a still life class where patrons can relax and draw with a glass of wine. Wind down your week with an intimate and focused session. Please bring your own drawing supplies!

Come and utilize the guidance of expert potter, Rey Contreras. This class gives students the opportunity to learn in a detailed and intimate setting. Perfect for beginners, or individuals who are interested in learning to throw new forms. Experiment with building bowls, plates, cups and vases with the strength and finesse of your own hands.

Upcycling: The process of transforming discarded or waste materials into something new and often of higher value, achieved through creative reuse, repair, or repurposing Work with seamstress Elisha Brockenberry to create exciting new garments from worn old fabric. Explore different techniques of pattern making, hand and machine sewing, and customization. Please bring garments to up-cycle, and don't be afraid to experiment! The cost for this course is $30 per session, or $100 for 4 weeks.

Explore your imagination with majestic artist Carlos Biernnay. Learn to craft ceramic characters, objects, or functional pieces using your own hands with an experienced ceramicist. Includes: 10 lbs of clay, kiln firing, glaze, guidance.

We are the hub for artists and creatives of all ages, offering accessible, low-cost or free art classes that foster creativity and growth.
​
We offer two locations in Connecticut, the Dirt Salon in Hartford and the NEST Arts Factory in Bridgeport, that serve as creative spaces with fully equipped art studios. These spaces host a variety of art-related events such as classes, workshops, exhibitions, and open studio hours. They are also the birthplace of RiseUP for Art's public art projects.
